Thank You cards for the PTA

Our School PTA needed some Thank You cards, so I offered to make them.
They needed 10 cards, so I made 2 designs for them.
Both Cards are made using Two-Step Stampin' Stamp Sets.
Card #1
I have used Cheep Talk Stamp Set.
Kiwi Kiss, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White.
I love this colour combo.
Card #2
I used Heartfelt Thanks Stamp Set for this card.
The colours I have used are Lovely Lavender, Passion Pink, Orchid Opulunce, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White. To finish this card I wrapped string around and tied in a bow.
I wasn't too sure on this card, the colours are not me at all.
Rhonda (PTA Chairperson) was thrilled with them.

Stampin' Up Promotion for July is 20% of selected Two-Step Stampin' Stamp Sets.
I will post again tomorrow with more details.

Birthday Card and Matching Shoe

After making the thankyou card on Friday for JAI challenge, I liked it so much and Savannah needed a birthday card for her friend Nadine whose party she went to on Saturday I made another one.
Change the words and you have a birthday card.
I also made this shoe for Nadine.
The flower is made using 5-Petal Flower and Boho Blossom Punches.
We cut and scored  another and put Sticky Strip on another shoe for Nadine to make up, with other supplies, Savannah punched out lots shapes for her. Nadine was so pleased with her gift she made a card straight away.

Bargello Technique

I came across a new technique the other day while blog hopping on Dawn Olchefske blog, go check out her blog she has lots of tutorials.
The technique was called Bargello.
Which is an embroidery technique that uses long stitches to create patterns.  But of course, we use paper to replicate the technique.

So here is the my results using this technique. Do you like the chervons that I have created using the striped Cottage Wall DSP?
This week challenge at Just Add Ink # 23 is Just Add... Patterned Paper.
So I thought this would be a great entry.
Last weeks JAI # 22 was a colour challenge which I wanted to do but I didn't get chance to do, so I have used them for this weeks challenge.
These are glorious colours and I have enjoyed using them together.
I don't know what the name of the style of card is, it is nice to make different cards from time to time.
I have used Cheep Talk Stamp Set, which is a 2 - Step Stampin' Stamp Set, which is very fun to use.
Next month, Stampin’ Up! is having a promotion on several selected 2-step stamp sets – so you may well be able to pick up one of your favourites at a great price.
Watch this space!

Warm fuzzie...

Thanks for all the comments and encouragement that you all of you out there in blog land.
As you know I have been quite busy lately and that I haven't blogged much lately ( I finished my book and have been to the library to get another one today), I had a email earlier in the week from my friend Bron and fellow SU demo whom I have never met in person only blogs and emails just to see if I am ok. It's so nice that you care, and that I was missed. I have enjoyed making so many new friends (in person and on the net) since joining Stampin' Up a year ago.
Today I was awarded this Swap Sisters Bonny Blog Award by the very talented Bron Heslop
So now I want to ’pay it forward’, and share with you five blogs that I visit and find inspiration from (besides Bron who nominated me!)
In no particular order, here they are:

And now 5 things about me...
1. I'm on the 50th Celebration Committee for Life Church Timaru.
2. I have just started driving the school bus on a Thursday afternoons and oncall for other days when Raewyn can't do it.
3. I'm enjoying reading Karen Kingsbury books. Tissues are a must for them.
4. On Saturday I'm helping make over a 1000 dozen cheese rolls for Girl Guides Jamboree Fundraiser.
5. I love school holiday and I'm looking forward to going to the movies with Samuel and watching Toy Story 3.
I hoping to have some bits and pieces to show you tomorrow, but first I have to find my benches and tidy my craftroom.

Have a great evening and I will see you all tomorrow.

I finish reading Even Now last Wednesday and am now nearly finished Ever After by Karen Kingsbury. I do recommend you read these books but you have been warned that you will need tissues.
I have been helping my Friend Liz in her shop while she was in Brisbane and also this week to help her out, thanks Liz I have had a blast.
I made this wee Note Card Tote last week, it fits 4 3" x 3" cards.
I was suprised at the size of the cards even though the instrustions told me that it made 3" square cards (blonde moment), my excuse it that we work in metric her in New Zealand.
This would make a great gift.

Just Add... Stitching

This week at Just Add Ink # 20 is just add stitching, real or faux.
My friend Jo has a sketch challenge on her blog and I thought it would look good with stitches.
Go check her out blog, Jo is very talented and I love to see what she has been doing.
I have destressed the edges of the DSP and Card. Pull the tab and out pops your journaling.
Samuel was about 18 months old when this photo was taken. He just wouldn't keep still for the photographer so this was the best we got.

Light Tent

I have been busy this weekend.
I have been making 14 swaps for a Team Meeting on Wednesday evening, I will blog them later in the week.
I have changed my blog appearance. Do you like it? There is a link at the top to the website to customise your blog.
And today after church Paul (DH) and I made a Light Tent.
A few weeks ago as I was blog hopping I came across Renee (SU Demo in Canada) her husband had made her a Light Tent and there was a link to the instustions. So click here for the instuctions. We had the pipes at home already, we needed to buy the joiners it was money well spent as it is hard getting perfect photos especially now we are in the winter months. So now I will have to play around with my camera to get the settings just right.
Here is my first photo using my LT.
This is sneak peek of my swaps that I have been working on.
Our brief was to use the Big Shot, new In Colours and Stamps from the current 2009 - 2010 Catalogue.

I can’t tell you what’s coming up next as we don’t know until that day of the special.
And to a card I made over the weekend.
This card was inspired by a card Michelle Zindorf had made, she is a very talented lady with a brayer.
I am enjoying using my brayer very much.
On this card I have used my Brayer and Sponges.
On Friday night I stayed over at the Guide Hall as a parent help on a senior guides camp. So I when armed with most of my craft supplies and even phone Paul (DH) a couple of time to bring me bits that I had left behind. I got 20 cards complete 5 cards of 4 designs.
I made them for Agape Children's Home in Thailand, Bev Watt saw a docomentary (Aussie) on the home and was deeply moved and emailed them and asked if cards would be of any help to them. They replied and said that cards would be great as they like to celebrate the children's birthdays and often there printer is broken so that they can't print cards. Bev asked for help to make them and has committed to sending them 200 cards.
This is another design that I did for them.
I will show you the other two designs tomorrow.
Have a great day.
