The girls from Just Add Ink have a real treat for us all this week.
They have got a Blog Hop for us with lots of great tutorials, I recommend a visit.
For thier challenge this week (JAI#17) is Just add ... Technique from the Blog Hop.
The choices are just so good you won't know what to do first.
The Technique I chose was Paper Beads and Faux Silk, the great tutorial was by Bronwyn Eastley.
After reading Bronwyn's blog it joggged a memory of Carole' Anne Blog, I had bookmarked awhile ago to do.
So today cards have been inspired by both these 2 talented ladies, Thanks Bronwyn and Carole'Anne.
I wanted a asian feel to this card. So I used Asian Artistry Stamp Set (Level 2 Hostess), I'm enjoying using this set at the moment, if you would like to earn this set for free, email me and book your workshop.
I did a google search for asian knots and sent most of last night trying different knots. I coloured household string with Real Red and Basic Black Ink Pads, very messy and my fingers are still stained (all in the name of craft) I was very pleased with the end product. This is the first time I have used household string in my work I was inspired by Danielle Daws who can't live without her string.
The Bead are made using Pink Flamingo DSP and I rolled them in Crystal Effects.
I thought this card would make a very nice wedding card, so I stamped Mr and Mrs from Occasional Greetings Stamp Set on the front.
The inside of the card I have a strip of Faux Silk and stamped For The Newlyweds from Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set Autumn-Winter Mini.
Here is card number 2.
This is very similar to the first card, I Have used different stamps from the same Asian Artistry Stamp Set.
I embossed the red tissue paper to make the Faux Silk, using Gold Embossing Powder.
