Dress Up Framelits

Yesterday I got 3 cards made, 1 was a copy of the 'lady bird watching' that I did on Saturday.
The other 2 were using the Dress Up Framelits and Washi Tape, they are completely different.
The first one I made, I made it for Latenight Stamper's Weekly Challenge.
Challenge 242 - Wet or Dry Embossing.
I have dry embossed using 'Framed Tulips and Honeycomb' Embossing Folders.
The DSP is Quatrefancy Specialty, which I ran through the Big Shot with Honeycomb Embossing Folder.
I was wanting a grunge look so I used my sponge and sponged Crumb Cake Ink onto it, then I used my Stampin' Sanding System (yes I found it this weekend Yay, it's been missing since our shift last October) to roughen it up and rip it to give that grunge look.
I covered a piece of Crumb Cake card with 'Epic Day This and That' Designer Washi Tape and cut the mannequin.
The Colour Combo is Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Basic Gray and Calypso Coral, these are the colours in the Washi Tape.
To finish I added a button made with Simply Pressed Clay and the Button Simply Pressed Molds, I coloured it Basic Grey and added Hemp Twine which now retired.
The inside layered card stock, on the Pool Party piece I embossed the Tulips at the bottom.
I like the card but think if I was to do again do something different with the embossed panel.
I have been thinking maybe the button should have been on the other side.
What do you think?
I would love to hear your feed back, please leave a comment.

Around the World Stampin' Up Challenge

I was looking a Sam Donald's blog this evening, she was showing of her beautiful card she made for the Around the world Stampin' Up Challenge, she is on the design team.
It is a colour challenge AW11.
Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Whisper White.
I was on pinterest this morning and found a card made by LuLu using the Dress Up Framelits.
I knew straight away that I would case her card using these colours.
I inked up my Brayer with Daffodil Delight Ink and inked the Stripes Embossing Folder, then run it through the Big Shot to made the wallpaper.
I love how the lady has paused by the window to watch the birds in the tree.
I love her hat, I would wear a hat like that, It is made with Large and Small Oval Punches.
The flower is made using Boho Blossom and Itty Bitty shapes Punches.
I like to add something of the outside to inside, so added a stripe of Quatrefancy Specialty DSP which is the same as the dress.
So go and check out the Around the World Blog, see what the design team have created.

I have a Confession to Make

I bought the Dress Up Framelits and matching Stamp Set in the pre-order last year, and I haven't used it until today.
I had the frame which used to have a picture of coffee pot which was very faded and we haven't had it on the wall since we lived in Dunedin 7 years ago.
It was crying out for a make over.
This is the end result, which will go on our lounge wall.
I sanded the frame a bit then rubbed Real Red Ink into the frame.

This is the bottom dress.
I tiered the dress with Modern Medley DSP and Silver Glimmer Paper.
The roses on the waist are retired, then I added a Basic Pearl necklace.
This is the top dress.
I cut this in Modern Medley DSP and Very Vanilla Card Stock.
Then I place the Very Vanilla dress into the heart punch to cut the bodice.
I finished it with a Very Vanilla Candy Dot and Basic Rhinestones for a necklace.
This the middle dress.
I did this one quite different, I cut the dress form out of the Real Red Card Stock and raised it above the dress with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I finished this dress of with Simply Pressed Clay Rose which I coloured Real Red.
I am determent to use supplies which I have used.
Do you have supplies you have bought and never used?
I'm sure we all have somethings, here's a challenge for you use something that has been inked etc with every project you make.
Tomorrow is an exciting day.
