Toothless

Samuel has been back at school today.
I did have him at the doctor's first thing this morning, we weren't sure on the colour of his gums.
The doctor has put him on a course of antibiotics because there is the start of an infection, but he is otherwise feeling a lot better.
Then he was off to school, much to his disguest he had enjoyed been home with Mum.
These are the first photos since the accident, he wouldn't let me take any before now.
He asked me to take some photos of his trains.
He is very clever with building his tracks, look how he has made a viaduct out of some wooden blocks.
The fabric is the beach and sea, and in the front he has barges with wood and money cargo.
After his accident we had been singing 'All I Want For Christmas is my Four Front Teeth'.
He wasn't impressed and said he wants 'Emily' (a green express train from Thomas and Friends), he told us that he couldn't play with his teeth. Can't beat that logic can you?
Do you like his T-shirt? It says "My Dad Knows A Lot, But My Mum Knows Everything!
A big thanks to all your kind comments and prayers, they are very much appreciated.

Quest Artist

Samuel Williams
(our 6 year old)
Samuel and I  have had 3 days Mummy time this week.
He is healing slowly after accident last Friday.
He went to school on Monday and Tuesday, but came home on Tuesday very lethargic, and hot and cold.
Wednesday I saw the nurse for my flu shot (that time of year), so she looked him over and said his gums were looking good so thought it was delayed shock.
His lips have nasty cracks and he wasn't eating a lot, drinking through a straw, I found some tiny teaspoons so he has been living on spaghetti, jellies and yoghurt's and soft food cut up small, he has developed a technique were he pops his food on his tongue then flings it to the side of his mouth were he has teeth.
He has started eating more and talking about going back to school.
We have had a great 3 days we have played board games and made cards together, just the 2 of us.
Here is the Get Well Card he has made for Grandpa (a friend from Waimate who has been in hospital this week).
He has used 'Choo Choo' stamp set, that probably is no surprise if you know him he is train mad or should I say obsessed.
He is very creative, not sure were he gets that from LOL.
I think he has made a fantastic job, he takes in everything that I do, take a look at his flowers, he has used the Bam Technique that I used for the first time yesterday.
He knew that he had to use the lighter colour first before the darker colour (isn't he clever, I'm biased) without been told.
He was looking in through my stamp sets looking for sea stamp, so I showed him  how to use the edge of the stamp pad to make the sea, then he finished it of with sprinkles as he called it.
He asked me to blog this for him, he would be stoked if you leave him a comment.

Monday's Online Class....

....Was this gorgeous handbag taught to us by the lovely Anne Brignall.
Too make this this you need a 12' x 12' sheet of DSP, there are a few folds and some sticky strip and this is what you get.
I used Elegant Soiree DSP and Early Espresso and Sahara Sand Card Stock.
I used Vintage Brads these are absolutely beautiful brads.
I love Monday evening Online Classes at Crafters Anonymous, it great seeing what we all do with the same instructions, they vary so much and we all get inspiration from each other.

Three Birds with One Stone...

.... But One got away.
A few weeks ago I joined a new challenge site "Try Stampin' On Tuesday".
Last week was the first opportunity for me to have a play, but I missed the deadline (one got away).
Here is the sketch from last week.
I used the colour combo from JAI 60.
I love this colour combo.
I'm involved in a 'Unoffical Swap from the last round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends', for the swap we had to make an Autumn and Mother's Day Card.
So here is the card that I'm entered in JAI 60, was meant to be in Try On Stampin' Tuesday # 6 and is my Mother's Day Card.
I now have to finish another 5 of these cards for the swap, I have done the Autumn Card, so I hope to have them in the mail by Thursday.
My autumn card was so involved, I struggle with CAS (clean and Simple), so I challenged myself CAS mother's day card.
I done think I achieved that, what do you think?
I have already received 2 lots  of swaps.
I will show you all the cards I receive when they have all arrived.
Go and check out 'Try Stampin' On Tuesday', they have another great sketch for us this week.
Also they are also offering Blog Candy if they have 50 followers by the 31st of March.
So what are you waiting for, Go.

What Punch Have I Used...

....To make this rose.
I found this Rose on Valita's Blog
I thought it was stunning and I had to try it, but my punch was in Waimate at a friend's place, so I had to be patient.
I got my punch back on Friday.
Due to Samuel falling of his scooter that afternoon and a quick trip to the dentist where he had his 4 top teeth pulled (he was very brave), I didn't get a chance to play until last night.
I have used it as the an embellishment on my for my original star box I made last Monday in Online Class at Crafters Anonymous.
The punch I used is the Owl Punch, you use the body of the owl.

Because I Care

I have had 6 sympathy cards to make over the last couple of weeks.
They are the most difficult cards to make.
I have used 'Because I Care' Hostess Level 1 Stamp Set.
I stamped it on WaterColour Card and used Aqua Painters to colour it in.
I used Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Stazon Black, Old Olive, Concord Crush and Lap of Luxury DSP.
I used Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Stazon Black and Lap of Luxury DSP.
I cheated with this card, I had a couple of these Brayered panels left over from last years Regional swap, I changed the mounts and added the bling.
Last night the Online Class at Crafters Anonymous was great we made Star boxes.
I will be back later in the week to show you.
I need to get cracking on making 2 birthday cards for Thursday.
Have a great day.

2, 5, 7,10 Bag

Every Monday at Crafters Anonymous there is an Online Class.
They are great, we all gather in the chat room and the fun begins.
A few weeks ago Tia Routledge took the class and everyone made beautiful 2, 5, 7,10 bags.
Unfortunately I couldn't make it that night.
I found a tutorial and here is what I made.
I made 2 of these for Jerry and Mr Goulet who went looking for Samuel, when he decided to scoot home from School last week.
I made this birthday card and bag for Hadleigh, a friend from church who celebrates his birthday the same day as Samuel.
Samuel thought as they share their birthdays, they would be the same age.
Hadleigh is a father of 3 beautiful girls and the fourth  baby is on the way.
When I told Samuel that as Hadleigh has a 6 year old himself that he must be older that, so now Samuel thinks he is 16, Hadleigh is very flattered and now agrees with him.
If you would like to join us in the Online Classes at Crafters Anonymous, contact me and I will get you an invitation to CA.

Thank you Karen

A big thank you to Karen Lister who is a demo in Dunedin.
The weekend of the Dunedin Regionals, the whole family went to Dunedin (we lived there for 14 years), and it had been 18 months since we had been south to visit.
So before regionals I phoned Karen, who is a cyber friend through our blogs but we had never met before.
I asked Karen if she could give me a ride out the airport where the regional was held, which is 30 minute drive so DH could have the car for the day.
She was so kind and gave me a lift and picked up 2 ladies up in Mosgiel, a friend of Karen's and Megan McDonald. Megan is another demo whose blog I had visited. It was so nice to meet people that I had visited their blogs before.
Here is the thank you gift I made Karen.
This is a cute wee box, that I found on Anna Sutherland blog here. It's so cute and she has a link to a tutorial.
I have used the Owl Punch, the thank you is from 'Just Believe' Stamp Set.
Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Island Oasis DSP colour combo.
Here's whats inside.
I made Karen an Owl Broach, and of course no gift is complete without chocolates.

Regional Name Tag

At the regionals I attended last year in Christchurch, I was surprised that our names were wrote on a sticky labels.
I spoke with Emma and said that with us all been so creative that we should make our own names tags.
This year regionals are now underway and we have all been challenged to make our own name tags.
(Sorry girls, now you all know who to blame.)
As you know I attended the Dunedin Regionals on the 26th February.
I had made two name tags.
This is my original idea for my name tag.
I have used 'Bliss' (SAB) Stamp Set and used Emboss Resist Technique.
The Rose is made using Very Vanilla Ribbon and a Antique Brad (don't just love, them I do).
Here are the matching earrings that I made using Antique Brads, I got some pliers and pulled of the back of the brad, then I used Crystal Effects to glue on earring posts. (sorry this photo bit fuzzy)
The second name badge I made was this one.
I had been lucky to earn a free pass to "Oh My Word" round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends, I got the idea from Kirsten Brown tutorial were she had used the Owl Punch and made a necklace, so I made mine into a broach.
I used Early Espresso and Woodland Walk DSP for the background were I punched hole for the broach to go through.
Here is the broach and matching earrings I get a lot of comments when I wear them.
I didn't know which to wear on the day, so I sort advice from Jennie.
She liked both and said it depended if I wanted to go elegant or funky.
On the day I decide I would go elegant and wore the first.
The next round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends is about to begin.
It is called ‘Big Shot Brilliance! Projects to Die For!‘, and it starts on 18 March, and runs until 06 April.
It so much fun, you get 40 tutorials, live chats and prizes and much more.
Click HERE to learn more, you will love it.
