Lovely as Tree and Moon Lake

I have cased this card from Kathleen Stamps
She has used different stamps and framelits.
I used Deco Labels Collection Framelits and needed to use Tangelo Twist.
I Stazon stamped the bird and used my Stampin' Write Markers to colour, then did some fussy cutting and mounted the bird with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The colour combo is Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist and Whisper White.
To complete the card I added Dazzling Details to the trees and added some Linen Thread.
For the inside I stamped the bird then did some sponging.

Samuel's Favourite Page is....

...... 59 in the New Idea Book and Catalogue.
He loves both the Dinoroar and I Dig You Stamp Sets.
He is going to Joshua's 7th Birthday Party tomorrow.
So I have used Dinoroar Stamp Set for the birthday card.
I have used my Brayer and Sponges to do the back ground.
I stamped the dinosaurs on Water Colour Paper and used Aqua Painters to colour them.
I got my inspiration for the colours of the dinosaurs from Land Before Time characters.
Darian use to love these videos, with the adventures of Littlefoot, Cera, Petrie.
I sponged and placed Chomper in the inside of the card.

I Have Cased....

...Another Michelle Zindorf card.
You must go and have a look at her blog here, she does the most amazing pieces of work with her Brayer and Stamps.
Michelle is a Demonstrator in the West Alexandria, USA.
She teaches Stamping and Brayer Workshops all across the States.
If she was ever to come to New Zealand, I would be there with bells on, I would beg, borrow or steal to get to wherever she would be teaching (just kidding about stealing but I think you get the gist of what I saying).
Go and check her blog, she has 364 tutorials.
Here is my CASE (Copy And Share Everything) of her latest tutorial #364 found here.
I had fun making it, it was a quick card to make.
Please don't be too harsh on me if you are comparing it to Michelle's, I do love it.
I have used a different tree stamp to what Michelle has used as we don't have that one in NZ.
Supplies List
Stamp Sets: Winter Post and Lovely as a Tree.
Inks: Basic Black, Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy and Baja Breeze.
Card Stock: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.
Accessories: Brayer, Stamp-a-ma-jig, White Gel Pen, Sponges, Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and Post it Notes(not SU).

Happy World Card Making Day

Kaye phoned me about 6 weeks ago asking if I had plans for today.
She asked if a group could come from Farlie.
So to celebrate World Card Making Day, I had 5 ladies from Farlie and 1 local.
They have had a whole day in town and we all had a great afternoon card making.
They make 2 cards a christmas and for you card.
Here's the Christmas card they made.
This a very quick and simple card to make, it only has 1 piece of card the rest is Inks and Dazzling Diamonds.
The second card we used 'For You Flower, a la carte Stamp' .
We used Soft Suede and Old Olive Cardstock and tiny strip of Greenhouse Gala DSP with Poppy Parade (In Colour) and Soft Suede Ink. We ran the Old Olive through the Big Shot using Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, we tied some Hemp Twine and mounted the flower with Dimensionals.
Then I showed the how they could step it up by appling Crystal Effects on the centre off the flower.

CHCH Regionals WOW

On Saturday at the Regional Training I was asked to present the WOW.
The technique I showed was Bargello.
Bargello is an embroidery technique using long stitches to create patterns.
But of course we recreate this technique in paper, using our striped DSP great way of using up our scraps.
Here are some exsamples that I showed on Saturday.
To make this Chervon pattern you need diagonal strip.
I used Washington Apple DSP which doesn't have diagonal stripes, so I made them by cutting 2 squares of DSP on a diagonal making sure you cut them 1 with stripes up and down and the other 1 stripes across.
I first saw this Technique on Dawn Olchefske blog, she has some great tutorials go and check out her blog.
This pattern you need diagonal stripes also, I had a scrap of DSP and I cut at 45degrees to form diagonal stripes.
I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the new DSPs in the 2010 - 2011 Idea Book and Catalogue, and trying this technique there are 11 DSPs and 9 have stripes.

JAI # 29 Second Entry

This week at JAI is a Colour Challenge.
This a colours combination that I haven't really used before.
I only had Card Stock in Kraft, Very Vanilla and a teeny tiny scrap of Always Artichoke.
I did have Raspberry Tart DSP which has Rose Red in it and a piece of Rose Red 1" double‐stitched grosgrain ribbon.
So here is my second entry into this weeks JAI challenge.
This is the card I made first but I wasn't happy with it so I put it aside made my card I entered on Friday.
I came back to it and finished it.
I have made this card plainer and changed the sentiment, to make it a sympathy or get well card.
I have used Dimensionals to lift up the Very Vanilla Card Stock with Lovely as a Tree Stamped in Always Artichoke then I sponged the grass area of the stamp and around the edges also.
The 1" double‐stitched grosgrain ribbon which is available in Rose Red, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip has got 50% off in the Last Chance List. Remember that they are only available till 31st August or till stocks last.
Click here to check out The Last Chance List.
Email me today with your order.

Colour Challenge

I achieved my goal of been picked for the Top Picks for JAI Challenge last week.
This week the the girls have another colour challenge for us.

Here is my card that I have made.
I didn't have any Rose Red Card Stock so I have used Raspberry Tart DSP instead.
I decided to make a Christmas Card using Lovely as a Tree and Best Yet , stamped and sponged in Alway Artichoke.
I ruffled the Rose Red Ribbon on the left side
I have used Kraft, Always Artichoke and Very Vanillia Card Stock.

Just add.... Mans Card

This week at Just Add Ink they have given us a double challenge.
Just Add Ink Challenge #28 is ..... Add A Mans Card and to use these colours.
Are they just gorgeous? I think so.
On Thursday I picked a piece of the retired Parisan Breeze Specialty Paper that was in the Spring Mini last year, I thought that I would do something with it over the weekend then on Friday when I saw what this weeks challenge was I knew what to do straight away, how prefect.
I have used the oak tree out of Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set, It is one of my favourite stamps.
The details in SU stamps are so sharp and they ink up so beautifully, just one of the things I love about SU products.
I also used the happy fathers day stamp out of the Occasional Greetings Stamp Set.
On the inside I have stamped the oak tree in the corner and scored a double frame around the edge, then I lightly sponged it.
Hope you have had a great weekend.

It is very simple design which I cased from Stamp TV.
I have dragged Bashful Blue and Baja Breeze Stamp Pads across Whisper White Cardstock, then I stamped Lovely as Trees in Basic Black and added 2 Way Glue Pen and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds at bases of the trees.
