Look at what I accomplished last night and today.
I want to make teedy bears for the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes.
These boxes are delivered by Samaritans Purse International Relief go check out there Website Here
This teddy is knitted using the magic loop technique, It's a free pattern designed by Julie Tarsha.
He was fun to knit even though I should have been doing my swaps for next weeks On Stage.
Go and check out both websites.
I love making up the shoe boxes, I collect bits and pieces all year.
Last year I send 5 boxes.

Framed Christmas Collage

On Wednesday evening we had our 1st Kiwi Stampers Christmas Team Meeting.
We had lots of fun, there were pressies from Rebecca for all of us.
Thanks Rebecca and a yummy supper.
The Secret Santa's were amazing, which sadly I didn't partake off.
The swaps we made were 2 1/2" squares CLICK HERE for more details.
Here is what I did with some of my swaps.
I decided to made a 4" square in the middle instead of another 4 squares, which shows more of the back ground Card Stock more.
Which means I have another 9 more swaps, so I will made 3 more and I will made another collage.
The frames are from Typo.
I had a bit of a dilemma when I was choosing my back ground card stock.
I didn't have any Old Olive or Cherry Cobbler 12" card stock.
So I had some Chocolate Chip Core'dinations cardstock, which designed to run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder then you sand it.
That wouldn't work for as I wanted the sheet to stay whole, so I started thinking about bark rubbing (like we did as kids with crayon and paper against a tree).
So I put the 'Modern Mosaic' Embossing Folder open on the table and placed the Core'dinations C/S over it and used my standing block, I moved it 6 times and the photo above is the end result.
I don't know if this is a new idea or not, I don't think I have seen it before.
Just shows that if we think outside of the square and work with what we have, you can come up with a sultution.
Have and great weekend, I hope you all get a chance of getting inky fingers.
I have to work today (I had better get ready to go) but hope to get into my craftroom tomorrow.

Team Swap

Last night we had our team meeting, it was so nice going as a local.
This was our guide lines for our swaps.
1.      Please use current Stampin’ Up! Product as much as you can, try to avoid non SU stuff
2.      Christmas Theme
3.      Pieces are 2 ½ inches square (3 inches if you cut before embossing thru the BigShot as they shrink)
4.      Colours – Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Whisper White, Choc Chip, Crumb Cake, Champange/Gold sparkle (you don’t have to use all of them, but we did want to co-ordinate)
Here's my swap.
I left my swaps at work so I have to post them to all the ladies today.
I have bought a 12" frame from Typo to make a beautiful Christmas Collage.
The problem will be choosing which one to use.
 Here's all the swaps.
Thanks Patty for letting me use your photo.

Limbo

Hi, I know it's been awhile since you have seen me blogging. Our life has been in turmoil, and we are in limbo. Paul (DH) from last December has been working 3 weeks out of 4 in Christchurch and coming home on weekends. He was on contract to Chubb, in March they starting to talk about how he would be good on their team (no job offer). We didn't give it much thought at that time, A month later Paul was offered a job. At first I was apposed to it, even though all our family is in chch.
After much prayer we decided that it would be the right move for us as a family. So  The big decrapping of our house began and 3 weeks later we had the house on the market. Paul started working for Cubb a month later. Our plans were that the house would sell and Savannah (DD), Samuel (youngest son) and me would join him in the July holidays, Darian (DS) was going to board with friends for the rest of the year to finish his school year.
But our plans were not in line with God's plans.
We have had 2 good offers on the house but have both fallen thought due to finance, so we are still here in Timaru. I am just waiting in God's peace and waiting for his timing and it will all work out for his purpose.
I found this on facebook the other day it spoke to us.
Disappointment are just God's way of saying,
I've got something better.
So be patient,
have faith and live your life.
As I am typing this our agent is coming over soon with an offer, we will see if it is meant to be then all well and good, so I hope their will be good news soon.
I don't like living like this but it is only for a short season and we will be a proper family again soon.
So with all this going on blogging was not a priority.

Yesterday I was crafting in Geraldine at the Craft  Creators Craft Day, I had 6 cards for the ladies to choose from.
Its Betsy's Blossoms Christmas Card.
The colours are Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple.
This proved a very popular card with the ladies.
It is cased from a pin on pinterest.
I will be back tomorrow with another card from yesterday.
Hope you have enjoyed your weekend.

Christmas Prepartions

Today we have been tidying, sorting and moving furniture in prep for tomorrow.
We have my family coming from Christchurch and will be staying over night.
Savannah and I have been working on the table for tomorrows Christmas Dinner.
We will have 14 around the table tomorrow evening for Dinner.
Our colour combo is Pacific Point, Real Red and Very Vanilla.
The wine glass and the name place I pinned on Pinterest.
I love this idea and it was super easy to prepare.
I used Four Frames Stamp Set and stamped in Pacific Point and used Real Red Marker to write the name.
This a task I gave to Savannah to prepare, it's very effective a small bauble and a length of Very Vanilla Ribbon.
I love my candle holders, I coiled up some beads and added a silk rose.
I love it.
 Here's our tree.
This is the tags I have made for this Christmas.
Have a great tomorrow.

Secret Santa

My SS was Amanda Kennedy.
I received a questionnaire that Amanda has filled in.
On this Amanda said here favorite colours were pink and pastels and her dislikes was green.
As most of you know I struggle with pink and pastels and my favorite colour is green.
So I had to get out of my comfort zone.
Here's what I created for her.
This is the Christmas Card that I made for her.
I used Sahara Sand Textured, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla Card, with Letters to  Santa Quick Accents.
The stampsets I used were Winter Post, Parlor Prints and Many Merry Messages.
This the Christmas Planner I made for her.
It was a tutorial from 'I heart the holidays' round of Ustamp with Dawn and Friends.
Melissa Huie was the designer.
I used Pink Pirouette as the main colour accented with Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Letters to Santa Quick Accent.
There is 4 tags in the front pocket.
Gift list, the pocket on the other can be used for recipes or receipts etc.
In the middle pocket are some tag so Amanda can make list.
Melissa had menu ideas on these.
More places for lists.
The back cover and more tags.
I enjoyed making this for Amanda, and I know she really liked it.
So going out of my comfort zone can be good.
I will now wish you all a very Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Oh Tiding of Comfort and Joy

Here is another Christmas card I demonstrated at a recent workshop.
I have used 2 new Stamp Sets, 'Tidings of Joy' and 'My Friend'.

I have embossed the baubles from ' My Friend' SS in Clear Embossing Powder on the background Night of Navy Card Stock, I think they look like fairy lights hanging (if you look closely you can see it).
As soon as I saw this set I loved it, I have kept it simply just stamping it and leaving it plain, but it is a great set or colouring also.
I stamping sentiment on the strip of Crumb Cake and tied a piece of Hemp Twine in a reef knot for some pop.
I used Night of Navy, Crumb Cake and Whisper White colour combo.

My First Christmas Card

Here's my first Christmas Card for the year.
I made it to match the box of tag in my last post.
I have used Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla Colour Combo.
I adore Chocolate Chip in a Christmas card.
I have used Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon, this is a gorgeous ribbon.
I have embossed the Decoration from 'Contempo Christmas' Stamp Set with the new Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder and mounted it up on dimensionals for a bit of pop.
I used my favourite embossing folder Square Lattice.
The also used 'Baroque Motifs' Stamp Set, this is such a versatile set I like using the flourish on Christmas card it looks like the decoration is hanging on the tree.

Bron Heslop designed this project for the I heart the holidays round of Ustamp with Dawn and Friends.
I have changed dimensions of the box and decorated differently.
Here are the tags, I love the penguin I used the Owl Punch to make him.
These have gone down well.

Ideas Running Around in my Head

Last night, I should say early this morning I blogged about the Christmas Tree Online Tutorial at Crafters Anonymous.
After finishing my Christmas tree, I had a idea running around in my head.
Yes I did sleep, after all it was 12.30am.
As soon as I got home from drop kids at school, I set to work and here is what I made.
As you can see the idea was an Angel.
I have used Whisper White Card Stock, scalloped the edge and added Dazzling Diamonds.
Sorry but the photo doesn't do it much Justice.

I Have Cased....

...Another Michelle Zindorf card.
You must go and have a look at her blog here, she does the most amazing pieces of work with her Brayer and Stamps.
Michelle is a Demonstrator in the West Alexandria, USA.
She teaches Stamping and Brayer Workshops all across the States.
If she was ever to come to New Zealand, I would be there with bells on, I would beg, borrow or steal to get to wherever she would be teaching (just kidding about stealing but I think you get the gist of what I saying).
Go and check her blog, she has 364 tutorials.
Here is my CASE (Copy And Share Everything) of her latest tutorial #364 found here.
I had fun making it, it was a quick card to make.
Please don't be too harsh on me if you are comparing it to Michelle's, I do love it.
I have used a different tree stamp to what Michelle has used as we don't have that one in NZ.
Supplies List

Happy World Card Making Day

Kaye phoned me about 6 weeks ago asking if I had plans for today.
She asked if a group could come from Farlie.
So to celebrate World Card Making Day, I had 5 ladies from Farlie and 1 local.
They have had a whole day in town and we all had a great afternoon card making.
They make 2 cards a christmas and for you card.
Here's the Christmas card they made.
This a very quick and simple card to make, it only has 1 piece of card the rest is Inks and Dazzling Diamonds.
The second card we used 'For You Flower, a la carte Stamp' .
We used Soft Suede and Old Olive Cardstock and tiny strip of Greenhouse Gala DSP with Poppy Parade (In Colour) and Soft Suede Ink. We ran the Old Olive through the Big Shot using Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, we tied some Hemp Twine and mounted the flower with Dimensionals.
Then I showed the how they could step it up by appling Crystal Effects on the centre off the flower.
