Framed Christmas Collage

On Wednesday evening we had our 1st Kiwi Stampers Christmas Team Meeting.
We had lots of fun, there were pressies from Rebecca for all of us.
Thanks Rebecca and a yummy supper.
The Secret Santa's were amazing, which sadly I didn't partake off.
The swaps we made were 2 1/2" squares CLICK HERE for more details.
Here is what I did with some of my swaps.
I decided to made a 4" square in the middle instead of another 4 squares, which shows more of the back ground Card Stock more.
Which means I have another 9 more swaps, so I will made 3 more and I will made another collage.
The frames are from Typo.
I had a bit of a dilemma when I was choosing my back ground card stock.
I didn't have any Old Olive or Cherry Cobbler 12" card stock.
So I had some Chocolate Chip Core'dinations cardstock, which designed to run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder then you sand it.
That wouldn't work for as I wanted the sheet to stay whole, so I started thinking about bark rubbing (like we did as kids with crayon and paper against a tree).
So I put the 'Modern Mosaic' Embossing Folder open on the table and placed the Core'dinations C/S over it and used my standing block, I moved it 6 times and the photo above is the end result.
I don't know if this is a new idea or not, I don't think I have seen it before.
Just shows that if we think outside of the square and work with what we have, you can come up with a sultution.
Have and great weekend, I hope you all get a chance of getting inky fingers.
I have to work today (I had better get ready to go) but hope to get into my craftroom tomorrow.

Lego Party Invites and Tuesday's Tip

Here are Samuel's Lego Party Invites I have been working on today.
Colour Combo is Crumb Cake, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point.
I used 'On Your Birthday' Stamp Set.
The lego block is so easy to creative a rectangle and some punched circle easy.
Tuesday's Tip
My favourite adhesive at the moment is the Tombow Mutli, It has 2 applicators a large and small.
I only use the small end.
You have a little bit of room to play to make sure your layers are in position.
It is best if you store upside down so the glue is where you need it, when I not using it I store in my caddy.
But when I'm using it this the way I store it.
I know some people use a small container like a candle holder.
But this works for me, and I have enough clutter when I'm working.
So why not use a punch to hold your glue.
But don't forget to put the lid on or you will have a sticky mess.

Tuesday's Tip # 4.....

....Sponges.
Stampin' Up sell Sponges in a pack of 3 for $7.95 (NZ).
I cut my sponges into 12, some people like to use the sponges whole, others cut them into 4 or 8.
Isn't that great value 36 sponges for $7.95.
I find it easier to sponge with a 1/12 of a sponge, I get inky fingers but that's fine.
I keep a sponge for each colour, so I punch out a tab using my Round Tab Punch I fold it over my sponge and staple it and label it. The sponge above will be my Pear Pizzazz sponge.
No more having to wash my sponges.
Here is how I store my sponges and Daubers.
I store both my sponge and dauber in the same area, in a container with dividers, I think I got my mine from 'The Warehouse'.
I now need to buy a new one and I will get my labeler out and put them into their Colour Collections.
Now here is project I have made, I have used sponges.
This Magnolia Flower is made using the Ornament Punch, which I have sponged with Blushing Bride Ink (In Colour), the leaves are punched out of Pear Pizzazz folded in half and put through the Crimper.
I found it on Sharri's Blog and click here to view the Video Tutorial.
I just Love it.

Tuesday's Tip # 3

Have I told you...
That I'm in love with the Basic Rhinestones and the Basic Pearls.
Especially the very tiny pearls.
I'm using them on nearly everything.
 Tuesday Tip
Both the Pearls and Rhinestone have adhesive on the back.
The instructions tell to gently peel from backing, been careful not to touch the adhesive or they will lose some of there tackiness, easier said than done .
So the best way I have found to remove them is to use your Scalpel Blade, poke the tip of the blade just under the Pearl or Rhinestone then you can remove it without touching it and adhere to your creation.
This the card that we made last night at a workshop as our 'Make 'n' Take'.
You guessed it, it has Basic Pearls on the Butterflies.
We also used Shimmer Paints and Colour Spritzer Tool.
Supplies List
Stamp Set: Butterfly prints.
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White.
Ink: Concord Crush.
Stampin' Write Markers: Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz.
Accessories: Basic Pearls, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Shimmer Paint Platinum, Sponges, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin' Dimensionals, Butterfly Punch and Colour Spritzer Tool.

If you would like to get a group of friends together and would like me to come over or you come to my house for workshop and make a card like this one.
Contact me to book a date (all my contact details are on the Contact Me page at the top of my blog).

Tuesday's Tip # 2

Hi everyone.
Can you believe it is Tuesday again, we are nearly through the school holidays.
I love the school holidays, no timetables or routine to meet. I often get up check to see if Samuel (5) needs anything brekkie etc, then I make my brekkie and cuppa and head back down to bed with the paper were I do the puzzles, then I read a chapter or 2 maybe 3 or 4 of my book and get up somewhere before midday.
Oh the life of it.
Tuesday's Tip.
When you are using the Handheld 1/16" (2mm) Circle Punch and you need to see where you are punching the hole.
Like in this Card.
I wanted the hole in the centre of the flower to place the Rhinstone Clear Brad.
To see the hole lift the cover where the punch outs get collected and you can see through.
Then Punch.
This is not my idea I think I read it on someones blog, sorry I can't remember where if it was you Thanks.
Enjoy the rest of school holiday (NZ).
We are planning a day in the garden tomorrow, planting veges, we prepared the plots on Monday.
Today we went and bought the plants and spend a few hours on the beach as it was so nice today.
We have been very blessed with beautiful spring weather for these holidays.

Tuesday's Tip

Do You Have Dental Floss in your Craft Supplies?
Do you ever stick something down then realised it is in the wrong place or it is crooked?
I can answer Yes to both the above questions.
Dental floss is a very handy tool to have on hand, for when have placed something in the wrong place.
You get your Dental floss and put it under the piece you have in the wrong place, with both hand pull the floss right under your piece until it has come undone.
It will come off nicely and won't be all buckled and bend like it would be if you had just pulled it off.
Then you reapply tape and reposition.
Here are some thank you cards I got completed today.
Yes my brown boxes arrived (I could have hugged my courier when they arrived).
I have used Thanks Embosslit, which embosses and cuts at the sametime.
I have used Concord Crush (sorry about the photo), Pear Pizzazz, Bashful Blue and Crumb Cake.
I also sponged the edges with Platinum Shimmer Paint.
