Easter Crafts

On Friday I was at school doing easter crafts with the new entrants to year 2.
Today I was with the year 7 and 8 class and tomorrow I'm working with the year 3to 6 class.
Timaru Christian School is a nice small school about 75 pupils.
They made easter baskets and a stain glass window card.
Here are some photos.

We made the baskets out of old wallpaper sample books, they looked great.

The baskets and cards have been kept till this Thursday, the teachers are going to put eggs in them and then the kids are been encourged to give them away.

Don't the baskets look great. The flowers are some of my old scraps of DSP, I used the Scallop Circle Punch.

The Crosses are made using wax paper with crayon shavings them melted with the iron. They look really great. They all made a great job.

Samuel's Train Album

Here are some photos of the Train Album, that Savannah made for Samuel for his birthday.
She has used up some of our old papers and ribbons.
And she used Choo Choo Stamp Set (retired) and On Track wheel (also retired).
The photos that she used were from the day we went to Pleasant Point Railway with mainly music last November.
Samuel just adores the the Album and it has been taking it most places with him.
Savannah did a fantastic job of this album and is now working on her 5th birthday Album.

Samuel's Party

Savannah had a friends birthday to go this afternoon, this is the card she made for Hannah.
She gave Hannah the Happy Moment Stamp Set, Basic Black Ink Pad and some stock card.
She made the card using Happy Moments Stamp Set to match the present.
She used Ink Pad and blender pens to colour parcel then applied Crystal Effects and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. She did a great job, sorry the photos not the best.
This afternoon was Samuel's Birthday Party. He had 10 friends over, lots of fun had by all.
They played Pass the Parcel and had a Treasure Hunt.
I made a Chocolate Cake, an iced it with green icing with coconut in for the grass, the tracks were made of liquorice, sprinkled large 100s and 1000s (not sure what they are called) for the stones around the track, I used James the engine as his number is number 5.
Samuel was very pleased with his cake.
Here pic of his presents.
We had a great day.

Two Birds With One Stone.

This afternoon I went round to see Liz and used her scor-pal, I so want one but I don't know weather to go metric or imperial as I use both, I will need both I think but they will have to wait.
This is what I made.
It is called an Impossible Box, Paula Dobson has a great tutorial on her blog.
Thanks Paula, she saw it on someone blog and figured out how to make them. Paula is very talented SU Demo.

The lid is attached to the base, all in one box. This is for 2 challenges, the  on challenge NZSU site this week, I also made it in the colours for Just Add Ink Colour Challenge this week JAI#7
The bow was very easy to do. I layered So Saffron and Tempting Turquoise ribbon on top of each other. Then I got a small length of Tempting Turquoise ribbon, folded it to form a bow, then I tied a piece of Linen Thread around then all after that I attached it to the box using Sticky Strip.
Supplies List:
Stamp Set: For Everything ( summer Mini).
Card Stock: Gable Green and Tempting Turquoise.
Ink: Passion Pink and Tempting Turquoise.
Ribbon: So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise 1/4" Grosgrain and Linen Thread.

My affair is still going strong.

Here is a project I have been working on the last couple of days.
I love doing different 3d projects from time to time. Kaisercraft have released these storage drawers, they were fun to make and very easy the hardest part was choosing what DSP to use. In the end I settled with Haiku DSP, you guessed it's got Tangerine Tango and Old Olive, got to keep the affair going that I'm having with Tangerine Tango and Old Olive. There is also So Saffron and More Mustard in the DSP, just fabulous.
I have used Raised Dots Designer Holder, from Hodgepodge Hardware. This includes fresh designs in a styled silver finish. These high quality metal accents coordinate with many of our punches. Approx 100 embellishments, at great value of $68.95. This is a must have set to have in your craft supplies.
As you can see I haven't finished it as I have not got Designer Label Punch in my collection yet, I will be adding it to my next order. When it arrives I will use it to punch the Labels, then I will write what will go into each draw (Brads, Grommets, Buttons etc) and then put some Crystal Effects onto labels. It should take the drawers from looking nice to looking great.
