Limbo

Hi, I know it's been awhile since you have seen me blogging. Our life has been in turmoil, and we are in limbo. Paul (DH) from last December has been working 3 weeks out of 4 in Christchurch and coming home on weekends. He was on contract to Chubb, in March they starting to talk about how he would be good on their team (no job offer). We didn't give it much thought at that time, A month later Paul was offered a job. At first I was apposed to it, even though all our family is in chch.
After much prayer we decided that it would be the right move for us as a family. So  The big decrapping of our house began and 3 weeks later we had the house on the market. Paul started working for Cubb a month later. Our plans were that the house would sell and Savannah (DD), Samuel (youngest son) and me would join him in the July holidays, Darian (DS) was going to board with friends for the rest of the year to finish his school year.
But our plans were not in line with God's plans.
We have had 2 good offers on the house but have both fallen thought due to finance, so we are still here in Timaru. I am just waiting in God's peace and waiting for his timing and it will all work out for his purpose.
I found this on facebook the other day it spoke to us.
Disappointment are just God's way of saying,
I've got something better.
So be patient,
have faith and live your life.
As I am typing this our agent is coming over soon with an offer, we will see if it is meant to be then all well and good, so I hope their will be good news soon.
I don't like living like this but it is only for a short season and we will be a proper family again soon.
So with all this going on blogging was not a priority.

Yesterday I was crafting in Geraldine at the Craft  Creators Craft Day, I had 6 cards for the ladies to choose from.
Its Betsy's Blossoms Christmas Card.
The colours are Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple.
This proved a very popular card with the ladies.
It is cased from a pin on pinterest.
I will be back tomorrow with another card from yesterday.
Hope you have enjoyed your weekend.

In Bed Crocheting

For the last week I have not been very well, so no papercrafting has been done.
I spent Easter weekend in bed with a crochet hook and wool while watching movies.
I created 2 flower brooches, and 2 hats and there is a third one in process.
This hat I crocheted last year but it needed a flower to brighten it up.
Here's the Rose Brooch that I crocheted for it.
The wool is a Merino Blend, the colours are ab fab, island indigo, elegant eggplant, more mustard, melon mambo, Always Artichoke to name a few.
Isn't it funny how I see colours through Stampin' Up eyes.
Do you do this also?
Here's a hat I have crocheted for Dad.

Here's the second flower brooch I made, I made them into brooches so they can be interchangeable.
The cream wool is left over from the hat I crocheted last year.
This is a very large flower, I love it.
The hat is real red, I have worn it a lot since finishing it the other day.
Here's my blogging assistant this morning, Ambrosia.
Hope you all enjoyed your Easter break.

More Soda Pop Tops

This is the card we did for the make 'n' take at Melissa'a party.
This was my sample card, I made it a sympathy card.
I cased this from Sharlene Meyer, she did hers in the pinks.
Check out her one HERE.
We used Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Pack.
It's a great pack perfect for card makers 48 sheets, 4 each of 12 designs.
We used the small Soda Pop Top as a feature alongside Collage Curios Stamp Set.
Here is another card, very similar.
I changed the sentiment.
I flattened the Soda Pop Top, then filled it with Crystal Effects.

Soda Pop Tops

I have very much enjoyed playing with the 'Soda Pop Tops" for the Seasonal Catty on page 24.
You get 8 large and 8 small for $8.50.
Last Saturday I had a Party at Melissa's, I featured these.
Here are the Hostess and Door Prize gifts I made.
They are simple pouches with Jaffas inside.
To make the tag I squashed a large Soda Pop Top through the Big Shot, used Collage Curios Stamp Set that works so well with the Tops.
I used Crystal Effect to fill the centre, I used my 1 1/6th punch then threaded Bakers Twine and attached to a ribbon.
I used Very Vanilla Card Stock, Real Red Ribbon, Old Olive, Early Espresso Ink.
I also used VersaMark Ink on the card stock to get a watermark effect.
Because the ink and Crystall Effects are both water based the image has blared a bit.
If you want a crisp image you heat emboss to seal it first.
This the quick card I demonstrated the squashing of the top.
I used the Print Party DSP Pack.
Have a great weekend

I'm Back

Here is the second card I made yesterday.
I have used Rain or Shine Stamp Set from the Seasonal Cataloque.
I love this set it's so sweet.
This basically a case from out the catty.
I have added a Tempting Turquoise base to my card and a freehand frame.
I used my markers to ink 'thoughts of you' then cleaned it then inked the 'rain or shine' which is one stamp.
I have had a very busy day today, I have been out collecting census papers and worked in the uniform shop at Mountainview High School, so no crafting has been achieved today.
I need to do some more tomorrow.
So I might see you again tomorrow (I will try anyway).
Goodnight all.

Paul (DH) has been working in Christchurch only coming home in the weekends all year.
I don't like been a solo mum, I take my hat of to all you solo mums out there.
I decide to stop playing FB games and 2 day after that my laptop fries it hard drive.
It is still at the doctors trying to retrieve all my files, photos and contacts etc.
I am having to share a laptop now with teenagers, so I don't get much look in.
I been working as a Census Collector, so I will be busy for a wee while still collecting forms.
So family has come first, crafting on the back burner.

This the 1st card I made today.
I used Pool Party Core'dinations Card with Honeycomb Embossing folder.
I sanding to heavy in the corner and it tore so I decided go with like that.

I(eye)Pad

I have made these for my kids to go in their stockings.
EyePads
I got the idea from my good friend Kim, for her birthday her DD made her an eyepad.
Sarah had used a vivid and drawn an eye on a pad.
I put my thinking cap on, here's my version using punches.
I used the Build a Blossom, 3/4' Circle and Owl to make the eye.
For the apple the back I used the Ornament, Scallop Oval and Bird Punches.

Sorry It's been so few and far between for posting on here this year.
2012 hasn't been a great year for me, and blogging has been in the too hard basket.
I have still been crafting, so have things to show you.
I will try to get back tomorrow (not promising through).

Sewing all Week

Here's what I have been sewing this week.
This is my dress that I have made for the 2 weddings we have next month.
I first saw this fabric in June, but it was too pricey for my budget.
Then when I was in the same shop in July they had 50% off all fabric, so I had to buy it.
The second wedding dress code is cocktail or semi formal so I added some bling in the form of a buckle.
Here's the handbag I made to match, I saw a bag like this on pinterest and knew that I could make it.
I played with a scrap of fabric to get it right, the local kindy will get that bag for dress ups.
The flower is a brooch so it can be removed and worn with other things.
This is my bargain of the week.
I have big problems getting shoes, I have big feet, long and wide.
I looked in Number 1 and they didn't have anything, so I went to Hannahs expecting to pay big dollars.
Too my surprise they had some shoes reduced to clear, I only paid $19.95 for them and they tone in so well with my dress.
I have made flowers to clip on to them to dress them up.
I have also finished Samuel's clothes for the weddings.
He wanted the dicky bow tie, so we bought that first then went hunting for fabric to make his waistcoat.
The trousers are navy and the shirt is cream.
He looks very spunky and grown up in them.
They kids are back to school tomorrow, so we will be back to our regular routines.
Have a great week.

I Have Been Bitten .....

By the sewing bug.
This last week I have made 3 skirts, 3 tops, a dress for Savannah.
I have also got PJs cut out for Samuel.
Next I have to make a dress for me and top for Savannah for the two wedding in November.
My Machine has been out most of last month making 3 puppets.
These guys are jet setting to India on Saturday with 3 men from our church going on a missions trip.
There is between approx 40 to 50 hours work in making one of these guys.
I love making them, you can feel their personality's growing while been created.
This morning in church we prayed with the team going and Paul (DH) did a performance.
Steve is going to make them passports and each time they go on a missions trip it will recorded.

Craft Creators Nature Walk

I have had a busy couple of months, life seems to be going at 100 miles per hour at the moment.
I'm sorry for  my absence.
Today at Craft Creators in Geraldine  we had a great morning.
Here are the two cards we made using Nature Walk Stamp Set.
The card is a Upright Z fold card.
This a really easy fold.
This would made a great card for a man.
The colour combo is Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Early Espresso and Raspberry Ripple.
We coated the whole image in embossing to give it a glossily look.
I would have liked to do the cracked glass technique with them but I didn't have enough powder, so I showed the ladies my version with the cracked glass and talked it though with them.
Here's the second card.
It almost a one layer card.
We inked the clear block with crumb cake to get background.
Then we stamped the bird in Early Espresso and masked him, then stamped the flowers in Old Olive.
The butterfly was stamped in Marina Mist and we used Blender pens to add Marina Mist Flowers.
To finish it we added some Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon and added a couple of tiny Tags.
The ladies loved the cards today.
I will try to get back tomorrow with my Cracked Glass Version.
Enjoy your weekend, it's a long weekend here in South Canterbury, so I will relaxing with the family.
See you soon.
