Julie and Tony's Wedding

Julie and Tony's Wedding yesterday was beautiful.

Julie arrived in beautiful old red cars (sorry I don't know what type of cars they were, My husband would know but he isn't home).

Julie and her Dad Ian just arriving.
The wedding was at Sopheze on the Bay, Caroline Bay, Timaru, New Zealand.
The bay has a lovely area for weddings, a beautiful setting.

This is Julie, Tony and Jarred (Julie's son).

The Bridal Party.
The wedding was very lovely. Julie and Tony laughed and cried all the way through the ceremony.
It was just great. The reception was lovely, great speeches. Wonderful food. A man played the guitar and woman sang, they were great, and knew how to get everyone up on the dance floor.
We had a fabulous night, it's been ages since I last went dancing.

This is how we all know Julie, she is always laughing.
Thanks Julie and Tony for sharing your special day with us.

This is the wedding card I made for them.

Mini Note Purse

I made this purse a couple of weeks ago, it was just waiting for the velcro dots which I didn't have any. I remembered the velcro dots yesterday when I was at the supermarket, so I finally got it completed. I first saw this purse on a  NZSU site, I can't find it now so if it was was yours thanks for sharing it. Here is the original tutorial Mini Note Purse Template - Toni Sacrison . I have made it using Walk in the Park DSP, Certainly Celery Ribbon and Clear Rhinestone Brad. It can hold 16 3" square cards and envelopes. I haven't had time to make the cards to go inside as of yet.
If you would like to know more about these product or would like me to come and make this purse with you and your friends email or ring 03 6862891.

Life has been busy busy!!!

I have been very busy. Darian and Savannah had last Friday and this Tuesday off school, and Paul was able to get the days off also. So we had five wonderful days in Dunedin, Catching up with friends. It was Christmas when we last made a flying visit. We used to live in Dunedin ( have only been in Timaru 2 years ), the kids have been been nagging us for awhile for to go down there. I finished the wedding dress I was making for Julie on Tuesday (I took the dress with me to do the hand sewing off the lace flowers), and I have managed to make a new top and alter a skirt that was already in my wardrobe for the wedding on Saturday. I will post some photos of the wedding next week.

Today Samuel was at Montessori all day. So I went to the gym, I did my vibe training then I got on the bike and did 20 minutes rolling hills approx 8 kilometres. I love going to the gym, just lately I haven't had time to get on the bike, it felt good to get back on the bike today. Then I spend the day tidying Samuel's bedroom and sorting out his clothes.

Tonight I finally got some card making done, I made 4 cards. A wedding card, Sympathy card (will show you them next week) and 2 window card. Jacque Pedersen has a tutorial on her blog for window cards. NZSU have a challenge to make a card using window technique.
They are both Birthday Cards.
First one is made using Pacific Point and Basic Black card stock and the hedgehog out off the Fun and Fast Notes stamp set.
The second one is made using Kiwi Kiss and Creamy Caramel card stock and the cakes out off the same stamp set.

So at long last I have managed to get around to completing then and I am very pleased with the results.
I made it in Ski Slope DSP.
The box was fun to make. I made it in Ski Slope DSP and Whisper White Card Stock.

Hostess Gift

Last week I had a fantastic workshop. The hostess got an amazing amount of money to spend plus her hostess stamp sets. She chose some beautiful stamp sets.

I have decided that I will start wrapping the hostess gifts. I make my wrapping paper using the packing paper that comes in with our orders, I used perfectly Pretty Stampin' around wheel in Bravo Burgundy ink. Then I wrapped it in ribbon and made a ribbon bow. I am very pleased with the results.

If you would like to recieve a lovely gift like this one,

Just us the 3 Bolton girls

This is the 3rd Canvas I have completed 1 more to go. I cased this from a scrapbooking magazine. When I saw it in the the magazine I knew straight away what photo I would use. I am the eldest, I think I'm about 10 years old, Heather 8 years, Sandra 5 years old in this photo. Mum is a great sewer and she used to make us matching dresses.
I started these before I became a Stampin' Up Demo, so the only thing that is SU on this one is stamped word "just" I used basic black ink and the schoolbook serif alphabet stamps.
The verse reads

To the outside world we all grow up,
But not to sisters,
We knew each others as we always were,
We know each other's hearts,
We share private Family jokes,
We remember family feuds
And secrets, family griefs and joys,
We live outside the touch of time.

Gardening while the sun shines.

Hi, hasn't the weather been nice? It certainly has been down here in Timaru. I have been too busy out in the garden to do any crafting. Yesterday I finished getting the vegetable garden prepared for plants and got Lettuce and mint planted. It feels good to grow your own veges.
Today I have weeded the rock garden in the front garden, its no mean feat, you need to be a bit of a mountain goat. I got some plants from a church plant sale yesterday, we have had problems getting plants to grow here before, so this time we have put lots of compost in between the rocks and we are hoping they will take this time. The end result looks good. I still have get the other side of the garden weeded, that is this weeks job.
