Today's the Day

Well today finally arrived for Samuel. Last Thursday as he was going to bed he said to me my birthday isn't coming. The build up for today has been a long time in the making, he got his school bag for Christmas, school books and covered them in January and he got his uniform beginning of February, to us it is not that long but to a 4 year old it is an eternity.
He looks very smart in his Timaru Christian School uniform.
This is his teacher Mrs Thompson. In this photo he is showing the class his train album Savannah made for him, I will take photos of it when I can get it off him.
Working at his desk.
Yesterday was the last day of mainly music for him.
He is singing 'Peeka Peeka Boo'. It will feel quite strange next Monday with out him there.
It was his last day at Montesorri also yesterday. I hung around most of the session and took lots of photos.
This is the card I made for the Montesorri Staff, Using Echoes of kindness Stamp Set (level 2 Hostess).

Special Time spend together

Wednesday is a Montessori free day and we always try to do something special together.
Today was our last Wednesday together as he starts school on Tuesday 2nd March.
I had promised Samuel if it was a nice day we would go to the beach.

We are very blessed to have the bay on our doorstep, the sea is safe for the kids to swim in.
Samuel just loves the water, he played in the sea with me paddling near by.

He took his digger with him and he played for hours digging in the sand.
There is a great playground at he bay and fantastic paddling pool.

Savy

This is another layout that I completed last Saturday at the Scrapathon.
I'm enjoying using the Bold Brights at the moment, the colours are so bright and cheerful. I used Circle Scissor Plus cutting system in the Summer Mini, you can cut and draw from 1" to 6" circles it is a fabulous tool great for scrapbooking and card making alike. I have used Kaleidoscope DSP, the colours and designs on these papers are beautiful. The butterfly was cut out of this DSP.
Savannah's friends in Dunedin use to call her Savy for short. Isn't funny how kids can shorten names, when we named our 2 older kids we thought that thier names couldn't be shortened, quess what the have been.
Supplies List:
Stamps: Schoolbook Serif Alphabet.
Card: Passion Pink, Pixie Pink and Tempting Turquoise.
DSP: Kaleidoscope.
Ink: Pixie Pink and Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.

The flowers are from my old crafting supplies. Stampin' Up do have flowers in the Pretties Kit, which can colour with the reinkers to suit your work, it is on my wish list.

Savannah's First Layout

This Savannah's first completed layout. Savannah did this page on Saturday at the Scrapathon with some help from me. She had done a page by herself before this page, but has decided after working on this page with my help that it wasn't complete.
The photos are of the kids playing in the Opihi River north of Timaru. She choose a paper that suited the photos. We framed the photos with Old Olive and Close to Cocoa card stock, then placed a strip of Chocolate Chip edged with the eyelet border punch. For the title we used the @ out of the On Board Timeless Type Chipboard, she painted it, then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on it. Liz helped her cut out the rest of the title using her circut machine in Old Olive card stock, then we sponged using Chocolate Chip Ink Pad the river then shadowed the letters it looks very affective.
I think she has done a great job, she is very pleased with the result. She has started a train mini album for Samuel for his birthday it is looking good so far. I will show it to you after she has finished.

Happy Birthday Savannah

Today is Savannah's 12th Birthday.
She has had a nice day. Homemade pizza for tea and Ambrosia favoured Ice Cream cake for afters.
There was a parcel waiting for her after school from her Godparents. Inside was the most beautiful outfit which Julie bought back from India.
The beading and gems on it are just glorious.
The colours are just beautiful, right out of the Bold Brights colours, Tempting Turquoise and Passion Pink. I have used a lot of these colours in my cardmaking lately.
Her birthday card that I made her matches this outfit. I will post it on Sunday as I didn't get around to taking a photo of it.
Savannah and I are going to a all day crop tomorrow, it is part of her birthday present.
I have got lots to get done so I will show you them all next week.
Have a great weekend.

Darian's First Day at High School.

Darian our eldest boy started at Mountain View High School today.
I have been a bit emotional today. My baby is now a young man, he has the world at his fingertips.
He looks very grown up and handsome (We are very biased) in his new uniform.
I was feeling very much like I felt when he first started school at 5 years old. Knowing that he has lots of decisions ahead that he has to make, like choosing the right friends, deciding to study well use his time wisely etc. We have a great relationship and will be there for him when he needs us.
We just pray that he gets in with the right crowd, and he can stand up for what he believes in and doesn't just follow the crowd.
I had the camera out this morning and took lots of photos, checked them on the computer then took more to get the right photos for scrapbooking. He was a bit annoyed with my photo taking but didn't mine to much and was great-full I wasn't taking them at the school gate, I did go back to school and get photo of the school gate after all the kids were in class.
