Regional Name Tag

At the regionals I attended last year in Christchurch, I was surprised that our names were wrote on a sticky labels.
I spoke with Emma and said that with us all been so creative that we should make our own names tags.
This year regionals are now underway and we have all been challenged to make our own name tags.
(Sorry girls, now you all know who to blame.)
As you know I attended the Dunedin Regionals on the 26th February.
I had made two name tags.
This is my original idea for my name tag.
I have used 'Bliss' (SAB) Stamp Set and used Emboss Resist Technique.
The Rose is made using Very Vanilla Ribbon and a Antique Brad (don't just love, them I do).
Here are the matching earrings that I made using Antique Brads, I got some pliers and pulled of the back of the brad, then I used Crystal Effects to glue on earring posts. (sorry this photo bit fuzzy)
The second name badge I made was this one.
I had been lucky to earn a free pass to "Oh My Word" round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends, I got the idea from Kirsten Brown tutorial were she had used the Owl Punch and made a necklace, so I made mine into a broach.
I used Early Espresso and Woodland Walk DSP for the background were I punched hole for the broach to go through.
Here is the broach and matching earrings I get a lot of comments when I wear them.
I didn't know which to wear on the day, so I sort advice from Jennie.
She liked both and said it depended if I wanted to go elegant or funky.
On the day I decide I would go elegant and wore the first.
The next round of UStamp with Dawn and Friends is about to begin.
It is called ‘Big Shot Brilliance! Projects to Die For!‘, and it starts on 18 March, and runs until 06 April.
It so much fun, you get 40 tutorials, live chats and prizes and much more.

  4. How very clever of you to make earings out of the brads Helen! Such a fabulous idea and one I am going to have to try myself.

I don't "blame" you for having to make my own name badge - I think it was a GREAT idea!! As you rightly said - we are all creative and it was a great way to make something so individual - so Thank YOU!!

  5. Helen, love the creations. I agree with Paula, what a beaut idea to make earrings. Haven't done that sort of thing in ages. I am starting to plan my name tag for the Wellington regionals next weekend. It's a competition, so it has to be good. Who won in Dunedin and what did it look like? Any sneak peeks.
